Wakefield,MA-Where I live...

Wakefield, Massachusetts, is a town of 25,000 people, located ten miles northeast of Boston. Our location at the intersection of routes 93 and 128 (I-95) places us in the perfect location for commuters. Wakefield enjoys a strong sense of community spirit, with many town-wide community events, from our Town Day to our Independence Day Parade to an Arts Festival to a fall Homecoming Celebration to Concerts on the Common, on the banks of our lovely Lake Quannapowitt. Having recently celebrated its 350th anniversary, Wakefield also has a significant historical heritage and many fine old buildings. In addition, we have a very good library and a flourishing arts/cultural life. As far as recreational opportunities are concerned, our Lake Quannapowitt is the site of both summer and winter sports. The town also is the home of a yacht club and is a favorite location for wind-surfers, and those who simply enjoy the 3 mile walk around the Lake.
