PREPARE TO DRIVE WITHOUT USING CELLPHONE

According to a news, the Massachusetts House have passed a bill by vote of 107 to 47, bans drivers from making cellphone calls without hands-free devices or without using earpieces. That bill stipulates that drivers could use their hands to dial and hung up the phone without a violation as long as they use an earpice or speakerphone during their calls. According to new bill, offenders would punish $100 to $500 fine and drivers who under 18 would have their licenses suspended 60 to 180 days. Nonetheless, some critics were thinking that this bill would against the communication freedom and they wouldn’t put the government even in the car. Washington and New Jersey have enacted laws last year banning the using of cellphone in cars along with Connecticut, California, New York and Columbia. In Turkey and in most of European country it is against the law using cellphone while driving. So, its distracting drivers, that is certain. I sponsore and endorse this bill. However it’s not finished yet. We have to wait the result of Massachusets Senate vote. Do you agree or disagree?

CLONED FOOD

According to a report which released by Food And Drug Administration (FDA), there were no differences between natural animals and clonned animals. Because of that consumers could ingest them confidently. Based on the report, natural meat and milk are precisely the same, and identical. FDA’s research had taken 6 years. Report was based on scientific data. Also FDA said there was no need to segregate and label natural and clonned food. Because their feeding methods were the same. However, inspite of the report, some people were concerned about clonned food. They had some reasons. For instance, the first clonned animal Doly was died very young. Also the long term effects of clonned food were still unknown. They haven’t wanted cattle, livestock, such as goats, cows etc. Some of them felt queasy, and likely to vomit. I think FDA’s report which released recently is a good news some companies which tend to produce clonned animals and food. So, what’s the point? I think, we have to be careful, because, next time our hamburger that we eat, our milk that we drink, etc. would be made of cloned food!
What about you, what do you think?...

Wakefield,MA-Where I live...

Wakefield, Massachusetts, is a town of 25,000 people, located ten miles northeast of Boston. Our location at the intersection of routes 93 and 128 (I-95) places us in the perfect location for commuters. Wakefield enjoys a strong sense of community spirit, with many town-wide community events, from our Town Day to our Independence Day Parade to an Arts Festival to a fall Homecoming Celebration to Concerts on the Common, on the banks of our lovely Lake Quannapowitt. Having recently celebrated its 350th anniversary, Wakefield also has a significant historical heritage and many fine old buildings. In addition, we have a very good library and a flourishing arts/cultural life. As far as recreational opportunities are concerned, our Lake Quannapowitt is the site of both summer and winter sports. The town also is the home of a yacht club and is a favorite location for wind-surfers, and those who simply enjoy the 3 mile walk around the Lake.

What do you think about US recession?

I think, some investors had been in state of denial about a possible reccession in United States, but now, there was no debate about it. And the only question was how long and how deep a recession might be. According to some economists, if the United States consumers quitted buying things, it was going to hurt Asia. Furthermore, the most rated corporations in Asia would be able to withstand a nine-month recession in United States, but if it were stretch 12 months or more, there would be some serious problems. I think, we will have to wait, and observe some progress in worlds economy whether some ecomomists expectations will come true or not...

CAR-FREE PROPOSAL FOR STORROW DRIVE

I’ve read an article on The Boston Globe. It was about a proposal which closing car traffic in Storrow Drive on Sundays mornings for a while. It was proposed by a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) which called Charles River Consevancy. According to them, United States was in trouble with fighting obesity. So, it would be a good opportunity for some people who wants to do excercise on open air. Additionally, closure of the coast of the Charles River would be a good opportunity for bicycling, walking, skating, etc. The proposal was about just west side of the river and just for a five-mile stretch of Storrow Drive. Also it was proposed that just on Sunday mornings would close, and just for April to November. I think their proposal would be nice some BU student who lives near Charles River. What do you think?
